Last time we talked about a couple of common hospice myths. This time we will talk about another hospice myth.
This hospice myth is "If a person has hospice care, he cannot return to traditional medical treatment."
Patients have the right to return to traditional medical care at any time for any reason. Medical conditions not related to the terminal disease continue to be managed through traditional medical care. If the patient's condition improves or the disease goes into remission, he/she can be discharged from hospice care. If the situation changes again sometime in the future the patient can be readmitted to hospice care.
